Style 40 is a solid piece of metal which is similar to a cammprofile gasket without the grooves. It can be ordered with high purity inhibited grade flexible graphite or PTFE applied to both faces.
Advantages:
Used for high temperature and pressure applications. The metal type can be selected for optimum chemical resistance and can be manufactured in various shapes. Flange surface finish and a higher level of bolt stress are crucial for the success of this design when no facing materials are applied.
